Notes and Acknowledgements

NOTES:

The database begins with the 1919 season. Fitzgerald did play football prior to that, but the scores are mostly unavailable. Additionally, some early games (in the 1920's, 1930's, etc.) were likely unreported.

The database contains data up to and including the 2009 season. It will be updated after each season is completed.

There are two forfeits: 10/22/43 (Fitzgerald won over Cairo by a forfeit) and 9/10/93 (Fitzgerald lost to Irwin by a forfeit). These games are not otherwise noted as forfeits on their respective pages.

While there could be some anomalies in the data, all this info is backed by one or more documented sources.

For a player to be included on the list of College Canes, he must have spent at least one season playing college football.
